TRULY THE BEST MOVIES EVER

There are movies that will just make you kill ur time(and sometime kill ourselves) and there are some movies that will make you travel along with those characters involved. And the movies “ The Shawshank Redemption “ and “The Truman Show” are the some of the best. These are the two movies that will make you cry, laugh, and push you to anger along with those characters.

About The Truman Show: At first on seeing Jim Carrey name in the cast list of the movie (thanks to IMDB) I thought it would be a comical or fell good movie. So I decided to download it (thanks to torrents), on seeing its excellent ratings. But to my surprise for the second time (1st surprise for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind),I was taken aback by the serious tone in the movie and again to my surprise Jim Carrey was at his best in pouring his acting skills in each and every scene. His performance in that movie was simply stupendous and mind-blowing. Every cast in that movie was so adapted and cleanly fitted as per the requirement, especially Laura Linney and Ed Harris. I watched that movie back to back for 3 times in a day to understand the movie in each and every frame.(U should watch it two times at least to know about each and every scene background works).I really wonder why Jim Carrey didn’t get Oscar for this movie and he truly deserved the Academy awards. Screw the OSCARS.

About Shawshank Redemption: On seeing this movie at the top most rating in 2nd place (next to godfather),I decided to download this movie to know whether it deserved that rating. Even after finishing the download process I was not interested in seeing that movie because of its background (fully inside prison). But on seeing the movie sideline” FEAR CAN HOLD YOU PRISONER.HOPE CAN SET YOU FREE” I came to an conclusion that there must be something noteworthy in this movie. The movie starts in a usual manner as in all Hollywood movies type (like shit).Tim Robbins convicted for killing his wife (and her lover) and go to prison for spending his whole life. There he gets the friendship of Morgan Freeman another convicted criminal and the rest follows as in all Hollywood movies. For ur surprise you can expect most of the scene in that movie before it reveals and most of the scenes makes you think of some other movies you would have seen. But the two things that make the movie awesome, stupendous, excellent.feel good is…..the excellent castings and the wonderful presentation from Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. I don’t have any words to describe their way of acting which really pierced my heart and made me laugh in happiness(especially climax scene). So please watch this movie and give comments about it.

Choose the Right Path with Numerology

Finding out your birthdate numerology number, is the first step to finding out where you will go, or what directions you should take in life.

Once you have reduced your birthday to a single number, then you can figure out your life path.

For example:  If you reduce your birthday down to the number “1”   then here is what that says about you.

ONE.  Strong willed, positive, and pure energy.  The number one reflects new beginnings, and purity, and when the symbolic meaning of number one is looked at closely, you will see that ONE represents both kinds of action, physical and mental.

This combined with the need for new beginnings, will spur you to take on new projects or go in a new direction and be rewarded for the action.

TWO, if you are two, you are kind, aim for balance in your life, but also the need for planning.  You have a need to be with like minded  people, and you wish harmony in your relationships.  You also have a need to nurture your soul and do what is best for you.

THREE,  if you are three, you express yourself creatively.  You use your intuition for decisions and to your advantage.  Three is also a time identifier, as you look at your past and present to help with your future plans.  You need to express yourself, and try new ventures, but wish the cooperation from those around you.

By reducing an important date, such as our birthdays, into one single number, you can then refer to the symbols of that number and gain some knowledge.  Birthday numerology is used to reduce your birthdate to a single number by adding  the day of the month, the number of the month and all the numbers in the year.

These are just examples of some of the numbers, there are also different paths in numerology you can look at, such as for career, relationships, money, and more.  It is fun to work out your number, and follow the symbols.

Pressing Flowers for Profit

Pressing flowers, is a great way to preserve nature.

If you live in an area of changing seasons, you can really get creative with colors and displays.

Do you remember, sticking flower petals and leaves in a book to press when you were a kid?

Well, this has become a popular hobby, and also a lucrative business. Everyone loves flowers and you can create some great pressed arrangements to adorn gift certificates, cards, photo albums, or put them into shadow boxes, for a 3D effect.

The best flowers to press, are the small flat leaf types, this doesn’t mean you can’t experiment with the bigger flowers, but in my experience, the smaller leaves and flowers, tend to retain their color and are easier to put into a delicate picture after.

Roses, as beautiful as they are, are the hardest to press, since their leaves have more moisture. You can save roses for drying, if you wish to retain their shape, or you can take a few petals off of the rose, and press them separately and the create a flower in your display or picture using these rose petals.

Flower pressing, is a great way to preserve a nice bouquet of flowers you received, and you can forever treasure them in your display or picture you make.

You can buy flower presses, but you don’t have to spend that kind of money, to try it out first. You can use heavy books, after pressing your flowers between pages, just remember what page your particular flower is at.

Phone books are not recommended, because of their flimsy nature, and you could damage other flowers while trying to find or press another.

Pressing leaves, is another great addition to your displays or pictures, but only use a few little ones, so as not to overpower your display. Just a little spray of fern leaves, or small green leaves behind your colorful flowers makes a great addition.

The beauty of flower pressing, is that there really are no rules.. you can experiment with all kinds of little flowers and leaves, and you can learn different effects and how to arrange pressed flowers for a beautiful piece of art that you can keep or sell for profit.

Magical Mother’s Day Reminder #2 - Mother’s Day Flowers, Mother’s Day Cards, and Other Mother’s Day Gifts Are Not the True Essence of Mother’s Day

Anna May Jarvis - Mothers Day Image

Photo of Anna May Jarvis - Founder of Mother’s Day

As much as I loved my mother Violet Zelinski, it will come as a surprise to some people that over the years I didn’t buy her Mother’s Day flowers, Mother’s Day cards, or Mother’s Day candy for Mother’s Day. I did buy her dinner, however, and spent quality time with her every Mother’s Day. Perhaps you should do likewise every Mother’s Day.

Truth be known, you don’t have to feel guilty about not buying Mother’s Day gifts, Mother’s Day flowers, or Mother’s Day cards to help your mother celebrate Mother’s Day. Not buying your mother cards, flowers, or candy to help her celebrate this special event is not about being stingy and saving yourself a few bucks, however. There is a much better reason. We have to go back to the origins of Mother’s Day to place this in proper perspective.

Anna May Jarvis was just two weeks shy of forty-two, working for a life insurance company in Philadelphia, when her mother (Mrs. Anna Reese Jarvis) died on May 9, 1905. It was the second Sunday of the month. The next year Anna May Jarvis made her life goal to see her mother and motherhood honored annually throughout the world. Jarvis felt children often neglected to appreciate their mother enough while she was still alive. She hoped Mother’s Day would increase respect for parents and strengthen family bonds.

Two years after her mother’s death, Anna Jarvis and her friends began a letter-writing campaign to gain the support of influential ministers, businessmen, and congressmen in declaring a national Mother’s Day holiday. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation from the U.S. Congress to establish the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day forevermore.

Ironically, the commercialization of the day she had founded in honor of motherhood - today it is the biggest business day of the year for U.S. restaurants and flower shops - was not what Anna May Jarvis had envisioned. Jarvis wanted people to spend a lot of quality time with their mothers and let their mothers know how special they were.

Sadly, Jarvis, who never married and was never a mother herself, retired from her job at the insurance company to spend her remaining thirty-four years, and her entire fortune of over $100,000, campaigning against the commercialization of Mother’s Day.

Whenever she could, Anna May Jarvis would speak out. She was known to crash florists’ conventions to express her distaste for their “profiteering” from Mother’s Day. Eventually too old to continue her campaign, she ended up deaf and blind - not to mention penniless - in a West Chester, Pennsylvania, sanitarium, where she died in November 1948 at the age of eighty-four.

“Why not give your mother Mother’s Day flowers, Mother’s Day cards, or Mother’s Day candy?” you may ask. “Flowers,” declared Jarvis, “are about half dead by the time they’re delivered.” As for candy, Jarvis advised, “Mother’s Day has nothing to do with candy. Candy is junk. You give your mother a box of candy and then go home and eat most of it yourself.”

“Then what’s wrong with Mother’s Day cards?” you may add. Jarvis felt that “a maudlin, insincere printed card or a ready-made telegram means nothing except that you’re too lazy to write to the woman who has done more for you than anyone else in the world.”

Tell your mother the truth about Mother’s Day and you won’t have to spend money on Mother’s Day flowers, Mother’s Day candy, or Mother’s Day cards to help her celebrate her special event of the year. Heck, you don’t even have to buy her a copy of one of my books as a Mother’s Day gift. You should, however, make her a special gourmet dinner or take her out to a fine restaurant. Don’t cheap out!

Most important, you should spend a lot of quality time with your mother on Mother’s Day. She will appreciate this immensely. What’s more, if she were still living today, Anna May Jarvis would be so pleased that you celebrate the second Sunday of May with your mother in the essence and the true spirit of Mother’s Day!

Some Statistics Regarding Mother’s Day - Why Mothers Day Needs Rethinking

  • In the United States, there are about 82.5 million mothers. (source: US Census Bureau)
  • According to Hallmark, about 96 percnet of American consumers take part in some way in Mother’s Day.
  • Mother’s Day is one of the most commercially successful U.S. occasions.
  • According to the National Restaurant Association, Mother’s Day is now the most popular day of the year to dine out at a restaurant in the United States.
  • Retailers report that Mother’s Day is the second highest gift-giving holiday in the United States (Christmas is the highest).
  • Different countries celebrate Mother’s Day on various days of the year because the day has a number of different origins.
  • In most countries, Mother’s Day is a new concept copied from western civilization.
  • Nine years after the first official Mother’s Day, commercialization of the U.S. holiday became so rampant that Anna Jarvis - who was most instrumental in the founding of Mother’s Day - herself became a major opponent of Mother’s Day Flowers, Mother’s Day Candy, Mother’s Day Cards, and Mother’s Day Gifts.
NOTE: The above article is adapted from the chapter called Flowers, Cards, and Candy Are Not the Essence of Mother’s Day! in the book 101 Really Important Things You Already Know, But Keep Forgetting (Vipbooks, 2007) by Ernie Zelinski. The book is dedicated to Ernie’s mother Violet Zelinski (Waselyna Gordychuk) who passed away while Ernie was writing the latest edition of the book.

How to turn Scrap Gold Jewelry into Cash

If you are looking to make some extra money, consider gold scrap.   Gold prices are up right now, and if you have any gold chains, jewelry, rings, pins or any kind of gold jewelry that you don’t wear much, or are looking to part with, then sell it online.

You can walk into gold buyers and jewelry stores and sell your gold, but I have found that there is a higher profit to be made selling online.  I am not sure why, maybe because the physical stores have such high overheads, or they just want to see a bigger profit, but why line their pockets?.   Check out the gold scrap online.

This can be broken jewlery as well as wearable gold.  Don’t throw it away because the chain is broken.  You could be sitting on some extra cash.

So, go through your jewelry boxes, or through your house, or your dresser, where you threw that broken gold chain.   Then take a look online and see what you can get.

You could also consider buying and selling gold scrap for extra cash.  Get yourself familiar with the online prices of gold and and you will be able to spot a deal right away.

This is a great way to make money on the internet without having a website, ads, or afiliates, with no cost to you, other than a listing fee.

Scour the estate sales, bazaars, garage sales, and you will be amazed how many people will have broken gold jewelry for sale for quite cheap, since it will need repairing, and they don’t always realize that there is value in the gold chain itself.

So, get out there and turn your new hobby into a business and buy and sell gold scrap. buy and sell scrap gold online

Learn to Paint One Number at a Time

If you want  to learn to paint, but don’t have the time for lessons or classes,  why not check out all the paint by number kits on the market?

I know, you will think, but I did that when I was a kid!.  These are adult paint by number kits,  that can be as simple or as complicated as you want them to be.

As you paint the paintings, watch how the shading is done, and pay attention to all the detail, as you don’t tend to notice that as you just paint your little numbered area.  Take note of how all the colors and shades of colors come together.  This is how I started.

Check your local craft shop or also check thrift shops and estate sales, as sometimes you can get some great kits in there.

I once got a beautiful vintage paint by number kit of horses, at an estate sale.  I guess someone thought they would get around to it one day, but never did.  It had to be 50 years old, but I loved the picture.    I purchased it, but the paints had all dried up, so I came up with my own colors in acrylic based on the photograph that was on the box of the finished project, and it turned out great.

There are many older beautiful vintage kits for sale online, don’t let the paint part scare you off, if they are too old, create your own color scheme and that will be one more step towards learning to paint for yourself.

Don’t forget to get your projects framed, some of those older vintage paint by number kits, have such detail, they will look like a professional artist painted them, and if you frame them nicely, you now have a great piece for your wall. vintage paint by number kits online

How to Make a Denim Pouch Pocket for those Webkinz

How to Make a Denim Pouch Pocket for those Webkinz

Do you have a bunch of those webkinz that you would like to display?.. Rather than have them all piled up on a shelf or on the bed, or stuffed away in boxes, for the day they become more valuable, why not display them on your wall?

All you need, are an old pair of adult size denim jeans. (ones with fairly big back pockets), a good pair of scissors, and some imagination for decorating.

Make sure the jeans are clean and then cut out around the back pockets, cutting through all layers of the seat of the jeans.

You should have formed a pocket where you can place your webkinz or special stuffie. Now, go back to your jeans, and cut out the inner seam of the jeans, to whatever length you would like, as this is for your hanger. I cut 18 inches, but you can do shorter or longer, if you have enough jean seam.

Sew the edges of the seam to each side of your pocket and then decorate your pocket with a painting, beads, appliqués, quilting, a denim fringe, use your imagination. This is a great craft for teens or older children. Then hang them on the wall with a colorful pushpin or hook, and then place your webkinz in the pocket.

This can hold other things beside your webkinz or favorite stuffie, it can also hold supplies, hair clips, hair brush, odds and ends. Make a few of them and then hang them on your wall.  see my pouch pocket

How to Make Money with Teddy Bears

Who can resist a cute and cuddly teddy bear?.. No matter what your age, a teddy bear can soften your heart. I still have some teddy bears from when I was young. They bring back fond memories, and happy times.

Well, I am here to tell you, if you think they have been overdone at craft shows, or online, then you are wrong. Teddy Bears will never go out of style, and the softer and cuddlier the better.

You just have to get a bit more creative with your teddy bears to compete in the craft market. A great way to create beautiful teddy bears, is to find a great pattern, preferably, a vintage pattern, or traditional pattern, you can get these online now from around the world.

Go to the re-use store, the second hand stores, or the thrift shops, garage sales and estate sales, and find those old mink, rabbit and fox coats that people are not wearing anymore. They are usually sold for quite cheap, or sometimes even given away. Even some of the faux fur coats look realistic. Some of the faux furs comes in brilliant colors, for something a little different!

Now sew your teddy bear from these coats, and you will have a one of a kind fur teddy.

Another great way to create teddy bears, is to make them custom for customers. Have your customer find some vintage clothes, or old bed spreads, or old coats that they are fond of, but because of the memories they bring, they don’t want to part with the item. Show them how you can make them into teddy bears, and then they will still have the fabric as a fond memory, and a cute teddy bear to display, instead of old clothes in a trunk!

People still decorate their rooms with teddies, you can display them on the bed instead of throw pillows, or on shelves or on the dresser.

They can make a room a soft place to land at the end of a bad day.. teddy bear patterns online
